What a girl wants

Is it too early to think about Christmas Wish Lists? Judging by the fact that all the department stores have been decked out since the day after Halloween, I’d say wish (or perhaps shop) away!

Clearly, this list is for the mostly casual girl that likes a little sparkle and a nice, red lip from time to time. Hmmm, I wonder who I was channeling when I put this together.

Take a look at some of these can’t fail items, if you need inspiration for your own list  (I’m sorry, I do not comprehend this concept) or if you are shopping for some special chick(s) this year. (Shop them on my Polyvore page.)

Anything I’m missing? What’s at the top of your list? Let me know in the comments below!

Daily Covet: A Pergola

You might find this so random, but today I am coveting a Pergola.

We had the lovliest time on the back deck of some friend’s of ours last night. They had little round lights outlining the deck, which provided the perfect amount of ambient lighting for late night cocktails on a hot, summer night.

We too, have a fabulous outdoor space for entertaining and while it’s practically perfect in every way, I have this vision for a gorgeous pergola to semi-cover our patio.  I want it to be strung with little white lights and maybe even have a ceiling fan to keep us cool when it gets beastly hot in August.

I also want it to have the same ivy growing in and around it just like I have crawling up the walls of my home.

What an outdoor paradise in the canopy of tiny lights and lush greenery!

This one is absolutely gorgeous and is like adding square footage to your living space. But maybe too-muchy like being in your family room.

I love the lights and the chandalier, presumably with votives for extra mood lighting.

But this space is absolutely UH-MAZING! I must admit however, that it may not be just the pergola that has me so in love… it might also be the stone patio and the table for dining al fresco.

Repost: Happy 125th Birthday Eiffel Tower!

After four seriously stressful days of trying to renew my LBS.com domain, I have finally succeeded.  If you missed Happy 125th Birthday Eiffel Tower! this week, it’s now available, and I promise to get some more good posts up as soon as possible!

Happy Friday (or Saturday for you far away bloggy friends!) and thanks, as always, for reading LittleBlackSweats!

Daily Covet: Kate Spade Salt & Pepper Set

HOW CUTE ARE THESE SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS?!  (And how about two posts in a row this week?)  But how cute are these really?

Yes, I’m totally screaming that!  I’m so in love with navy and gold right now and the fun geometric prints on these Kate Spade shakers are T.D.F (to die for!)

Kate’s Fairmount Park Dot & Stripe Salt and Pepper Shakers marry preppy, deco and pop artsy seamlessly.  They would really complement the chicest penthouse dining table and the most eclectic studio with a table for two perfectly.

It almost makes me want to rethink my dining room colors to incorporate these into my table decor.  Hmmm….

Daily Covet: Anthropologie Willoughby Sofa

I need a new sofa.

Well, I need another sofa.

I love the sofa I have, but I am dying to add some bold color to my otherwise subdued living room.  And on a rainy day this week, I spent the day moving my furniture around and around to no avail.

This is the Willoughby sofa I have my eye on… in fact, Anthropologie has a whole gaggle of furniture I wouldn’t mind adding to my maison.

Take a good look at this lucious velvet sofa.  Isn’t it delish?

Daily Covet: Chinese Chippendale Étagère

We need shelves like no other.

This house contains boxes of packed-away books, tables with stacked books, and small bookcases with way too many books too.

I’m always on the hunt for places to store books, trinkets, art and more.  When I saw this amazing Chinese Chippendale Étagère this morning on OneKingsLane.com, I was instantly smitten.

Now if I could just find this beautiful piece on the cheap at a local esate sale instead!

Daily Covet: Glass Table Lamps

I am nesting.  But not in the nursery department.

I also have Spring Fever, which makes me want to liven things up around my house.

My living room has been a tough room for a long time.  It’s always felt “unfinished.”  I have finally decided to pay some attention to it.  I started with the easy part.  Pillows!

We added an adorable little chest, which we painted bright turquoise against our paler blue walls.  It’s got gold accents, which look great against our straw-colored sofa.

Now, I’m wanting to update lighting.  I want something a little more modern to juxtapose with our mostly French-style antiques.  I think after scouring site after site for lighting that is fabulous, but also affordable (really?  $700 for lamps?!), I have finally found what I’m looking for… enter Pepita glass lamps from you’ll never guess where!

Daily Covet: Built-in Wardrobes

I’m looking for more space.

An exhaustive search for new homes in my neighborhood have led to no good options… in our price range, at least!  So, I’m looking at ways that this girl can get room for more shoes and clothing in the space I already have.

I went to Google, which led me to pinterest.  I found this amazing built-in wardrobe with gorgeous doors and mercury glass mirrored panels.  This is my absolute dream and I’ve got just the wall for it.  I also wouldn’t mind adding that chandelier to my wish list.

The question is:  How much is this going to set me back?

Daily Covet: Jane Mount Ideal Bookshelf

I have long been intrigued with Jane Mount and her ideal bookshelves.

I’m a reader, my husband is a literature buff, my small boys die to be read to.  That’s why I constantly keep my eye on 20×200’s collection of Jane Mount’s art.  She makes “ideal bookshelves” for everyone – over 600 to be exact.

Dr. Suess and Pat the Bunny grace a children’s bookshelf.  There is one with all the classics for the professor of literature, and now the perfect shelf for a fashionista.

Some of the books are ones I actually own, which makes Mount’s Fashion bookshelf even more fun.  This will definitely go to the top of my Christmas list!

Daily Covet: Four-Seater Bench

This little four-seater bench is one of my favorite things this morning.

As you’ve probably guessed, I adore the color.  And love the shabby-chic thing it has going on too.  What’s more, the adorable “holiday” pillows in pale pinks and blues are so unexpected for Santa Season.

But at almost a grand, this little bench won’t be gracing my front porch.  Instead, I’ll search out a vintage one for about 1/20 of the price in one of my nearby antique markets.

Who shops RSH.com anyway… ridiculous prices!
