There’s nothing bigger in footwear than slip-ons at the moment.
That’s why these Sam Edelman Becker Sneakers are on my must-have list. Well, that’s not the only reason. Carrying bags, baby, keys and more out the door is tough to do – which only leaves one hand to put your shoes on… if that!
Sam Edelman’s go-with-anything sneakers would be perfect since I can’t wear flip-flops all fall and winter too. I’m wild about these sneakers and would love to try them on with denim skimmers, sweatshirt dresses and even shorts!
Where can’t these Beckers in such a cute animal print go?
That’s right, Reeboks “Classics” have returned. And they are bolder than ever as they were crafted exclusively for Nordstrom in collaboration with Alicia Keys.
If you were coming of age in the late 80’s like I was, you will no doubt remember these high-top sneakers worn with extra-scrunchy socks. Sometimes even layered… as if!
You may have been sporting them with your Guess jean skirt (jeans weren’t coolly referred to as “denim” back then.) Or maybe you were still “pegging” your jeans. Whatever. These were the “it” shoes for a time and now they are back!
I just can’t imagine picking my sons up from school in these, shall we say, “retro” kicks.
Kate Spade’s cute patterns and kicky colors paired with Keds’ classic and simple style will launch exclusively at Nordstrom this month. The price of the eight available styles is $75-$85 and are in honor of Kate Spade’s 20th anniversary.
Plaid. It reminds me of Catholic schoolgirl uniforms and Scottish kilts.
But here, a cute tartan jacket with an origami shape is super modern. These tartan jackets are the granddaughters of the wool windowpane blazers of the 90’s. Thankfully they are lighter, more flattering and frankly, far more chic than their predecessors.
I love them paired with skinny jeans and pumps like Nordstrom shows it here. But it would be a great holiday outfit with black satin pants. Or schoolgirl meets biker chick with a fitted leather skirt — leather is all the rage this fall!
It’s also on the very affordable end of the spectrum too… always a bonus!
I went looking for glitter ballet flats. I love how they look with plain old jeans and a t-shirt and thought it would be great “Mom Street Style.” Comfortable. Unexpected. While I did find quite a few pairs of adorable flats, I fell in love with these glitter loafers more!
Leave glitter loafers to Kate Spade, friends. Don’t like blue? They come in black, gold and rose too! And with a little bow tie to boot….er shoe.
You will find them on throw pillows, dresses, wedge sandals, iphone cases and pretty much anything else you can think of. So because I love them, and because there are so many to be found, here is a little bundling of some stripes I tracked down. (Complete shopping info via Polyvore.com too.)
I have a very sad, old pair of very loved and heavily worn black knee boots. I think they have accomplished their mission and are ready to hang up their soles this fall. So I’m on the hunt for new boots, preferably equestrian-style riding boots.
I tend to love the ones that have a hint of metal detail – or maybe even detail that beats you over the head – so here is what I’ve come up with. Three of my favorite pairs in black, of course!
Surprisingly, the least expensive ones are my favorites. They are a little more casual, have a great lug sole (perfect for Midwestern winters!) and I love the “ruched” look of the shaft. I’ll keep looking but I think these are a great start to my search, don’t you?!
