You know what they say? Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. But so are 401Ks and nest eggs. So when you want to show off some bling and be nice to your bank account, CZs are not a bad way to go. On the plus side, they are perfectly flawless, unlike most real diamonds.
While clicking through a teaser from Refinery29 in my email today, I happened upon these beautiful stacking rings available at Nordstrom. The feature was about how the Duchess of Sussex (aka Meghan used-to-be-Markle) is suddenly sporting a new eternity band on one of her first formal appearances post birthing their baby, Archie. (How do we feel about that name? Is that for another day??)
No surprise that most of us are not princesses – recognized by the “state” at least – so in some most cases, affordable baubles are a necessity. This set of five bands-a-stacking allows you to mix and match for a new look every day. If you happen to be treating yourself, order a set in both the silver and gold tones for even more options in the mixed metals department. You’ll be eternally grateful you did.
I just looked back at the time stamp on my last post and realized I’m failing miserably at maintaining this blog. I sortof wish I could say I have got my covet-ing in check, but that wouldn’t be true. I still spend a lot of time “window shopping” online. That is to say, filling up my virtual carts and leaving them to sit un-checked out.
But this time of year, I’m taking special note because I have several people who ask for lists or just a few things that I may have my eye on for Christmas. And so, to make their lives easier and also to get a much-needed post on the books for the end of the year, a few of my favorite things is here!
“A few of my favorite things” is generally what I title this post each year, but it is also the song lyric from one of my favorite movies, “Sound of Music.” The movie also reminds me of the holidays because it used to be shown on public TV the night of Christmas. My family would cuddle up at my grandparents’ house after the dinner had been eaten and the packages had been opened.
Anywho, let’s get to it. From creamy tunic sweaters to spency designer watches and key fobs that will also charge your phone, here are a handful of items I love this year.

Tory Burch Fleming Quilted Lambskin Shoulder Bag – Vonmaur.com
J. Crew Cotton Poplin Pajama Pants and Top – JCrew.com

Is it too early to think about Christmas Wish Lists? Judging by the fact that all the department stores have been decked out since the day after Halloween, I’d say wish (or perhaps shop) away!
Clearly, this list is for the mostly casual girl that likes a little sparkle and a nice, red lip from time to time. Hmmm, I wonder who I was channeling when I put this together.
Take a look at some of these can’t fail items, if you need inspiration for your own list (I’m sorry, I do not comprehend this concept) or if you are shopping for some special chick(s) this year. (Shop them on my Polyvore page.)
Anything I’m missing? What’s at the top of your list? Let me know in the comments below!
I am so excited for this Sunday, April 19th, I can hardly stand it.
Sunday is the day that Target launches it’s latest collaboration with the well-known Lilly Pulitzer label.
It’s true, Lilly purists are dismayed by the brand “lowering” itself to the likes of Target’s fashion for the masses, but I think it’s awesome. It brings southern belle charm and sophostication to all women, who want to look good even if their bank accounts aren’t as full as the average Lilly Pulitzer wearer.
I haven’t always been a huge fan of the busy prints in a rainbow of bright colors, but I have as of late found more and more prints that I really like and Lilly’s shift dresses are practically perfect in every way.
So without further adieu, here’s a quick edit of my most absolutely favorite pieces not only for women… but for the home and children too.
What are your thoughts on the Lilly Pulitzer brand collaboration with Target? Do you think it devalues the brand’s reputation or do you think it’ll give people who wouldn’t have otherwise known or been able to afford access to this fun and vibrant brand?
With three weeks left of winter, I’m itching to get my white jeans out.
If we’ve learned anything over the past several years, it’s that white pants can be worn year round. To be honest, I put my white jeans away for the winter more out of consideration for my lack of space rather than upholding any now-defunct sartorial rules.
But I so badly want to pull out some of my lighter weight and lighter colored items – more specifically a pair of white ankle jeans that fit great and feel even better. So how do I style them before the temperature catches up to my desire to wear my warmer-weather clothing.
A blue silk blouse, a camel pea coat and navy patent loafers are perfect for staying warm in your white pants. Add a poppy bag – maybe it’ll make you feel sunny even if it’s still very much winter outside.
Slip a blanket coat over white jeans and some on-trend winter boots for a season-worthy look. This is a cozy ensemble for walking around on campus or commuting to and from work or school – especially if there is still some late-winter snow on the ground. Statement earrings, lipstick and bag will stand out against gray skies and neutral pieces.
If your white jeans fit as well as mine do and make you feel good, you’ll most certainly want to wear them out. Pair them with a sexy cami and a cool and cropped flyaway leather jacket for a sexy getup to get you noticed. Black booties that show a little bit of skin are even more sexy.
Of course, you can always wear your fabulous white jeans on the weekends or for more casual weekday wear. Get out your Converse sneakers, a cozy – but still sexy – sweatshirt and a cozy scarf with a bit of color to prevent the “frump factor.”
