Camel coats seem to be everywhere this fall, but the fact is: a fabulous camel coat has always been a fashionista’s cold-weather staple.
Sadly, this fashionista has never – not once – owned a camel coat!
So, I’m on the hunt for something lovely in one of the rare neutral browns I might look good in. This Max Mara Ragni coat is one that I absolutely love. I adore the funnel neck and the oversized fit. I’m also crazy for the not-quite-full-length sleeves and the car-coat length that won’t get in your way when you’re doing all the things we girls need to do when we’re not shopping!
It might be a bit pricey, but since I’d wear it for the rest of my life – maybe it’s worth the splurge?
I’d pair it with knee boots and jeans or or a wool mini skirt. I’d totally wear it to the pumpkin patch with my kiddos or to run errands in high style. It’s such an easy piece, I could throw it on to get the mail or pick the kids up from school. And it comes in gray and olive – the first I have loved always and the second is my new favorite neutral.
Pea coats, shawl-collared dress coats, ski jackets, leather moto jackets and more.
But I have yet to add a toggle coat to my list.
And this Burberry coat is the perfect coat in that category. Black with the Burberry Brit check (brown), which means it’s a total staple. It’s long enough to wear with a short skirt or dress, but short enough to be a casual coat.
And since this SAHM rarely has to be anywhere dressed up – it’s an everyday dream coat for me!
Bloggy friends, I have my mojo back. My maternity clothes wearing days are over!
The fall fashion is starting to roll in to the stores, and I’m attending Fashion Week here in the Midwest next week.
But right now, I’m smitten for coats! This RED Valentino coat, in particular. I think I love this line even more than the original Valentino couture. I adore how feminine this coat is and how it fits and flares – perfect for covering up post-preggy saddle bags!
Sadly, I would have the opportunity to wear this coat approximately three times during a season. But seriously with these lines, would you even need to wear anything underneath it?
Everyone knows the trench is a time-honored staple.
Trenches are a timeless wardrobe piece that every fashionista needs in her (and his!) outerwear collection.
The traditional trench is khaki. Then came the pink or navy trenches with green and white polka dot linings. Or the yellow trench most commonly worn with Hunter Wellies.
But now an Eyelet Trench from Elevenses?! Anthropologie has the cutest blue and white eyelet trench for Spring. This trench is so feminine, but features military-inspired epaulets and a waist-cinching belt.
Better yet — It’s adorable over bright yellow capri pants as seen here.
I love the retro shape. I love the mod-ish print. I love that it’s easy in cotton with a touch of silk-blend pizzazz. I adore the round neckline and mini collar. And I’m smitten with how it’s shown here over something very short with black opague tights.
For a girl who adores toppers, this coat is definitely tops!
