Daily Covet: H&M Pink Printed Coat

The fun part about today’s “Daily Covet” is that I actually am not coveting it anymore! I purchased this retro and totally fabulous H&M coat already – just in time for the Valentine’s Day brunch with my best gal pals. The Dolman sleeves and boxy shape are so 60’s but the collarless style also makes it look sort of asian-inspired. This cute, little number has opera-length sleeves and must-have pockets too. It’s absolutely perfect!

I styled it with boyfriend jeans, a j.crew factory Charley sweater in pale gray and pink suede pumps (old, very old kilty version.) I also wore my Anthropologie glass bubble necklace because the irridescent beads naturally catch the light to reflect pink and gray. Here’s the real thing, but the picture was a terrible “quick pic” I sent to a friend to tell her about my cool find. I included a better mock up of the outfit too.

Daily Covet: Pleated Leather Skirt

Ok, enough with the workout speak. It’s January 2nd, and I’m no doubt half way to giving up on my New Year’s resolution to get in shape. But I am certainly not giving up shopping or coveting, so let’s get on with it, shall we?

As much as I love to ooooooh and oggle over items from the famed fashion houses, H&M never lets me down in my real life. I found this adorable pleated leather skirt before the holidays and absolutely forgot about it. In perusing the post-Christmas sale at H&M, I rediscovered it – sadly, not on sale yet.

While it’s certainly not overly expensive, it’s hard to justify a $200 leather skirt for this mom of three that lives in black yoga pants 360 days out of the year. However, it’s a pretty reasonable wardrobe investment with a pretty versatile playbook. The color and pleats lend a soft twist to a traditionally rocker-type piece.

I may just have to treat myself now that the holidays are over.

My paying gig: Back-to-school fashion under $25

Bloggy friends, I’ve been struggling with my work/life/blog balance these days. Sorry for the infrequent posts. Momaha mug

But for those of you with kids, nieces, nephews or just a penchant for children’s fashion, here is my blog today for Momaha.com.

At Long Last, H&M Online

An H&M E-commerce site?

Yes! Finally!  I heard it yesterday, and it’s rumored to be launching in June this year.

For those of us stuck in the land of limited shopping options, we depend on online shopping for access to some of the most fun fashion out there.

I take every opportunity I get to shop H&M when I am in bigger cities.  I love it for my kids, my husband and myself.  And now, if all goes well, I will have easier and more frequent access.

Next best thing?

A store right here in town… what’s the population requirement for that?!

Peter Pan Collars

Peter Pan collars are nearly everywhere you go.  You’ll find these cute collars on coats, jackets, blouses, dresses and even all by their lonesome.

While I love Peter Pan for little girls, they are so chic right now for big girls too.

Here’s a smattering of Peter Pan cuteness.

Daily Covet: Anything with Alberta Ferretti’s name on it!

I love Alberta Ferretti and sister brand Philosophy by…  The lines are so feminine and the fabrics are rich.  It’s everything a girl could want in a dress.  (Yes, we’re back to dresses again!)

Here I’ve styled three amazing options: 2 for more formal occasions and 1 “play dress.”  Complete shopping info is on Polyvore.com.

Take a gander at the amazing Deco-style earrings with the lavendar floral number… yum.  My favorite is the green one, how about you?

Daily Covet: The Pink Blazer

If you haven’t noticed, the pink blazer is everywhere!  It comes in all different shapes and hues, and looks great with virtually everything.

The great part is that most of them seem to be really tailored – nipped in at the waist – to make them the perfect layering piece with skirts, dresses and my favorite, short shorts!

Here are a few examples, and you can find complete shopping info on Polyvore.com.
