Anthropologie: New Arrival Edit

The Anthropologie catalog arrived in the mail this weekend. I always love to flip through and see what beautiful landscape and props they’ll use to show off their bohemian-leaning lines. And this catalog was no exception. Case and point…

I gotta say it was full of stunning items with which I’d love to line my closet. If only had a little more lining my wallet – it’d be fun to start from scratch right from the pages of Anthropologie.

From ballgowns to bathing suits, here’s a roundup of some of most favorite pieces in the New Arrivals section.

Daily Covet: Trina Turk Davani Dress

A friend of mine manages a small and chic boutique here in Middle America.

This past weekend, I visited just in time to take a gander at the latest shipment they got in. And boy am I glad I did!

I have my eye on this amazing LBD from Trina Turk with cool cutouts and POCKETS! I’ve purged my closet of a few old or unwearable LBDs, so I’m thinking that this dress is just the number I should add.

As you all know, the only thing I like better than little black sweats are little black dresses.

What better bag than this structured, but unfussy, handbag in too many awesome colors to count?

I love the simplicity and the elegance of Céline’s simple crossbody bag. I also love that the shoulder strap can be tucked in so you have a dual-duty clutch.

The biggest problem (besides the hefty $2800 price tag) is how do you choose just one?

Daily Covet: Tailored Dress

Having three little boys at home does wonders for your social life… and not in a good way. My husband and I no longer make big plans for NYE, but instead, stay home and play games or watch movies with our brood. Most years, I’m lucky to be up when the clock strikes midnight.

But if I were heading out to overindulge on delicious cocktails or mouth-watering steak frites with bernaise sauce – or more likely all of the above, a new dress I would surely need.

This tailored dress from & Other Stories would be perfect. While it’s not overtly sexy and it’s not covered in sequins like typical NYE ensembles, it wreaks of sophistication and reminds me a little bit of Sally Albright’s dress from the mother of all NYE parties in Harry Met Sally (a party of such proportions that it only happens in the movies!)

I adore the full skirt, the deep v-neck and of course, the stunning emerald color. How could you go wrong?

Daily Covet: The perfect denim shirt

Button down shirts are really hard for me. I’m convinced all of them have the buttons in the wrong place because regardless of how big I get them to fit nicely in the bust, they are baggy everywhere else and gap in all the wrong (or right, if you’re my husband) places.

I have an awesome denim shirt that I bought at the Gap on Lakeshore Drive when I lived in Oakland. It has a slight western flair to it with the tell-tale yoke and pointed pockets. It also has a hint of stretch and princess seams for excellent shaping. But since I’ve had children, it’s never quite fit the same (not that I’m losing hope!)

So, I’m on the hunt for the perfect denim shirt for a girl who has a little more up front. Because what can’t you wear a denim shirt with?! **For full shopping info, visit my polyvore page.

Daily Covet: Ralph Lauren Wool Cashmere Poncho

Let’s face it, ponchos have come a long way since their vintage sisters made their way onto the style scene.

This Ralph Lauren Wool – keyword Cashmere – poncho looks so cozy and warm and perfect for fall.

I’d pair it with knee boots and jeans or or a wool mini skirt. I’d totally wear it to the pumpkin patch with my kiddos or to run errands in high style. It’s such an easy piece, I could throw it on to get the mail or pick the kids up from school. And it comes in gray and olive – the first I have loved always and the second is my new favorite neutral.

Like most things I love, it’d go almost anywhere!

Daily Covet: J.Crew Barrett Suede Ankle Boot

Is it fall yet? I mean, no one loves summer more than I do, but if we can’t be sleeping in, playing at the pool or going on vacation – bring on the cooler temps already!

I’d also like to pull out my fall wardrobe and start picking out some nice investment pieces to get me through the year, if not the next few. These J.Crew Barrett suede ankle boots are totally gorgeous and the fact that they come in navy (black and grey too!) was super exciting for me.

I love to read.  I usually have a stack of unread books next to my bedside just waiting to be cracked open.

There are times though, when I really want to read a book that someone has mentioned or possibly one that I’ve read a review for and I can’t remember what it was by the time I finally get to the bookstore.

It sure would be nice to grab my Kindle and order it up, right then and there!
