Almost daily, I receive luxury travel deals for discount prices. Most of them are pretty typical.
Stay at this spa in the dessert, visit that ultimate ski resort in the mountains, or maybe float down the canals of Venice. But today, I received cruise specials for these amazing Clipper ships in my inbox and I’m intriqued.
This isn’t just your average cruise ship, as you can see by the picture. This particular deal was for a 7-day cruise through Panama and Costa Rica for about $1300 per person. Not a bad price for a beautiful upper deck cabin and all meals included.
If only I had an extra $2600 laying around, so that my husband and I could treat ourselves to an amazing cruise…
I have an upcoming trip to Chicago in a couple of weeks and this is the worst time of the year to pack light. It starts out freezing, becomes warm, and then becomes freezing again when the sun goes down. This means you need at least two different wardrobes.
I also have a wedding to go to, so that means I need an occasion dress along, while I’m packing light. The answer? Chiffon. And I normally H-A-T-E chiffon but I have had my eye on this dress for months. I finally ordered it with the hopes that I will love it as much once it arrives and I put it on (NOT bloody likely)!
But I love the modern print and the long sheer sleeves, which makes it perfect for Spring and Fall. I plan to throw on some pale pink suede pumps with it to play up the cooler weather factor and figured a tailored navy jacket might be another possible fix.
Cross your fingers for me because at this price, it’d be a front runner for sure!

I have a very sad, old pair of very loved and heavily worn black knee boots. I think they have accomplished their mission and are ready to hang up their soles this fall. So I’m on the hunt for new boots, preferably equestrian-style riding boots.
I tend to love the ones that have a hint of metal detail – or maybe even detail that beats you over the head – so here is what I’ve come up with. Three of my favorite pairs in black, of course!
Salvatore Ferragamo 'Fersea' Leather Boot, Nordstrom $695.00
Tory Burch 'Aaden' Tall Boot, Nordstrom $495.00
DKNYC 'Cascade' Boot, Nordstrom $159.95
Surprisingly, the least expensive ones are my favorites. They are a little more casual, have a great lug sole (perfect for Midwestern winters!) and I love the “ruched” look of the shaft. I’ll keep looking but I think these are a great start to my search, don’t you?!
I had high hopes of making our little backyard into a Halloween pumpkin patch for my oldest son’s 5th birthday. I was picturing hay bales, scarecrows, a fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and a crisp early October night to top it off.
So when I ran across this cute Halloween decoration (picture complete with hay bales, purchase I’m assuming is not!), I just had to add it to my daily covet.

Sadly, my 5-year-old insists on a “Bounce Party” at our local Pump It Up, so my dreams of a pumpkin patch party at home have been dashed. But yours haven’t!
So, anyone who reads littleblacksweats.com here and there, knows that I get a bazillion marketing emails a day from a whole host of retailers. Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Neiman Marcus, Janie and Jack, and the list go on…
A few days ago (yes, I’ve been busy!), I received one from Crate and Barrel. I like Crate and Barrel a lot but most of their furniture is a tad more modern that I prefer… and by prefer, I mean a little too modern to go with all the beautiful furniture I had the great pleasure of inheriting, but probably wouldn’t have picked out on my own accord. I digress.
The email was about a sale on upholstery and I just happened to catch a glimpse of this cool sofa in an instant. I love the nail head look. I love the tailored finish. I love the lazy Sunday morning feeling it gave me just looking at it. I love the color – like pink cheeks after a long day in the summer sun.
The downside? All those pillows that would never stay put. I love it, but I can’t afford it.

On a recent trip to the furniture store, we came across more bunk beds. I tried to steer the boys in another direction, but they sought out those beds like a piece of candy in a pound of green beans. Read more about my fate here.

I know shoes are probably featured on the Daily Covet more often than not but it’s the easiest and the most fun thing to shop for.
Your shoes always fit (save during pregnancy.) And those days of the month when your clothes don’t fit or you’re feeling a bit frumpy for whatever reason – slipping into a gorgeous pair of shoes can make you feel as good as new again!
And these adorable platform loafers from Sperry Top Sider are no exception. I’m also making the assumption that are outrageously comfortable and heavenly to wear. A great multi-season pair of shoes, these are a must-have to wear with jeans, pencil skirts, twin sets and anything else that needs an edge!
