I received J.Crew’s stylebook catalog today, and got a better glimpse of a print that has been catching my eye in ads for the past several weeks.
The J.Crew Hummingbird Floral print, which is part of their “Collection” line (read $$$), has absolutely stolen my heart. I love the pale blue background. I love the pops of red, black, white and bits of pale pink, green and purple against the rich silk/cotton blend fabrics.
And the Hummingbird Floral-print Etta pump with glitter heels are an absolute stunning combination that will be hard to go without. But then again, that little minaudière would be a treasured piece for many years to come!
In fact, I want virtually every piece in the collection. But at J.Crew’s inflated “Collection” prices, I may have to just choose one!
We love that the Guggenheim Museum is blazing trails towards the future with a mission to find the world’s most gifted contemporary artists. Their first undertaking in their new MAP global art initiative opens today and shines a spotlight on the best and brightest artists working across Southeast Asia today. The incredible diverse works in the exhibition reflect the history, politics and censorship that many of the 22 artists and collectives live with.
With incredible pieces like “Love Bed” a sculpture of an exquisite metallic bed made entirely out of razor blades and paper clips by artist Tayeba Begum Lipi, this exhibition is a fascinating glance at the vibrant world of contemporary art in a part of the world we are not used to seeing in New York. All the works in the exhibition have been acquired by the Guggenheim as part of their permanent collection.
A few weeks ago, I did a round up of upcoming spring fashions for “My paying gig.” In the article, I mentioned that leather will be just as hot for spring as it was for fall/winter in 2012.
So this DVF Delian Leather Dress is just what the “style doctor” ordered! I know it’s hard to tell, but from here the leather looks buttery soft and how chic that it’s also in a creamy white color – lighter for warm weather. Also looks like the peplum is here to stay for at least another season.
If I weren’t going to be sporting a baby bump all spring and summer, I’d be waiting for this hot, little number to go on sale!
One of my all-time biggest passions. I collect them and can remember every bad decision I’ve made to finally let go of a certain pair. It’s never failed that at some point, I’ve needed or wanted that exact pair of shoes for some reason.
I had a similar pair of these shoes once upon a time. I loved the cut-outs and the ribbon. And now, I am particularly into “cage-y” style shoes, which I guess these could be classified as… in the most demure context anyway.
And they aren’t $700 like my other coveted footwear!
So I haven’t made a formal announcement as far as littleblacksweats.com is concerned, but this post may tip you bloggy friends off to the obvious.
I am happy to report that my husband and I are expecting another baby boy this summer (our third!) At the time this blog was published, I was just 13 weeks along, but am on the verge of hitting the 16-week mark on Friday – 4 months down, an eternity to go, it seems!
Maternity clothes are my new reality. So what does a momma-to-be-again wear when warmer weather hits and pup tents are out of the question? Ive put together some fun options for day-to-night, casual weekends, and beach or pool time.
