My paying gig: Transition summer style into fall fashion

I’m so there again right now. I’m totally ready for fall so that I can bust out knee-high boots, skinny jeans, my favorite Anthropologie sweater… but hmmm, it’s still almost 100 degrees out.

Inspired by this desire, I wrote a post about transitioning summer staples to early fall fashion. Hope you’ll check it out here.

And hey, all you American readers, Happy Labor Day!

Daily Covet: Puddle Jumping with Hunter

Last fall/winter, I searched high and low for rain boots that I loved.

And more importantly rain boots that actually fit my calves.

I found some equestrian-style boots that I adore, and have to laugh at the fact that I have been looking for rain boots when this is the dryest summer on record.

But you know how I love to start early.  So, I’ve located cute rain boots with a 16 1/4″ circumference around the calf area.  Not only will these Hunter boots  fit, but I will also have extra room to tuck in my skinny jeans, which has been problem #2 with most boots.

While I’ve ordered Sporto boots, Sperry boots and have tried on others, I have yet to find the “right” pair.

Hopefully, these cute Hunter Bessy Boots will be my ticket to puddle jumping this fall…. That, and some rain in the midwest.

Peter Pan Collars

Peter Pan collars are nearly everywhere you go.  You’ll find these cute collars on coats, jackets, blouses, dresses and even all by their lonesome.

While I love Peter Pan for little girls, they are so chic right now for big girls too.

Here’s a smattering of Peter Pan cuteness.

Daily Covet: Prada Round-Framed Sunglasses

Prada has always been the epitome of cool, classic and elegant.

These Prada sunglasses are no exception with their retro-feel lenses and sophisticated black frames.

Sadly, the lense shape of these sunglasses aren’t the most flattering on my face.  But I adore the swirly design at the temples.  If you ask me, they are a work of art too!

What do you think?  Too cool or too bad?

Maison Martin Margiela Cutout Illusion Pump

I just had to post these Maison Martin Margiela pumps I found today.

I can’t decide if I love them or hate them, but I have to admit they are unique.

What do you think?

Daily Covet: Zara Quilted Jacket

Oh yes, it’s coat and jacket season again soon!

If you are a regular follower of this blog, you know full well that I love myself some outerwear!

Pair outerwear and quilted fabrics, and I’ve got heaven on earth.  This adorable jacket from Zara’s fall collection has a round neck that I UH-DORE.  The almost bomber feel of this cute quilted jacket from Zara mixes classic and biker perfectly.

For a girl that lives in jeans (when I’m not in my little black sweats, that is) and knit dresses and knit skirts, this jacket pulls everything together with chic sophistication.

Daily Covet: Leopard Calf Hair Pump

I adore calf hair pumps.  I especially adore calf hair pumps when they have a chic leopard print and coordinating piping.

The classic lines of these J. Crew calf hair pumps are my absolute favorites for a number of reasons.

  1. The block-ish heel will be in style for-EVER!  Don’t believe me?  Go back an look at Prada’s shoes from past decades.
  2. The rounded toe means the toe box offers a little more rooms for those of us, who have wider feet or are out of the practice of  wearing high and pointy heels.
  3. With a heel of 3 3/4″, they are still manageable for us girls, who used to wear heels often, but have given them up with our day jobs.

Again, these shoes are cute with pencil or pleated skirts.  Denim and schoolboy blazers (like my previous Daily Covet.)  Ankle-skimming pants in bright hues or wide-legged trousers that need a heel for a long and lean look.

It’s a no-brainer, really, that these J.Crew calf hair pumps are a must-have this season and the many that follow it!
