I’m back. Sorry, if you missed me but I’ve been busy. Summer has brought on an extremely busy schedule that has us running from one place to the next almost constantly. In the midst of it all, we had this one gorgeous day here in middle America, with only a little water in our basement.
It was that beautiful day earlier this week when I was reminded that I have always wanted a convertible. Not just any convertible though. If you haven’t guessed by now, my tastes are “champagne” and my budget is definitely more of the straight orange juice variety.
I’ve been a little bit of a car person for pretty much ever. That is to say, I love German luxury cars and that is not to say, I know anything about their inner workings or how to fix them – sadly, the more useful hobby.
While some people yearn for a convertible VW bug or brand new BMW convertible, I prefer the more vintage kind. This 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL convertible, to be exact. They call the color “strawberry” and I think that’s perfect. My favorite part about these vintage automobiles are the matching hub caps. The dash, is a close second.
Now I realize this car is neither practical, nor affordable for a family with young children (and a limited budget) but may I remind you, this is where I put everything I want. Some things I can have (my husband has been shopping my blog for mother’s day and anniversary presents!) and some things I clearly cannot.
Wouldn’t it be cool, though, if my husband shopped this $92,000+ convertible? Maybe someday when we’re rich… not famous.
