Bloggy friends, sorry for the hiatus in LBS.com blogging. This post about my desire to stop having to wear clothing with panels should explain why my inspiration for daily shopping has waned. Read more at Momaha.com today for tips on dressing a postpartum figure!
Summer weather has finally started to rear it’s head around here.
That means backyard BBQ’ing and outdoor parties will soon become a reality – especially as we make our way toward my four-year-old’s birthday in early June and my own – GASP – 40th in July!
These mini Mason Jar sippers immediately caught my eye and made me long for the lazy days of summer and pink lemonade. I picture a gaggle of sweaty 4-year-olds walking around sipping from cute red and white straws.
But who’s to say that these cute little jars wouldn’t make great high ball glasses filled with hard lemonade for the older set?
So many possibilities!
So I haven’t made a formal announcement as far as littleblacksweats.com is concerned, but this post may tip you bloggy friends off to the obvious.
I am happy to report that my husband and I are expecting another baby boy this summer (our third!) At the time this blog was published, I was just 13 weeks along, but am on the verge of hitting the 16-week mark on Friday – 4 months down, an eternity to go, it seems!
Maternity clothes are my new reality. So what does a momma-to-be-again wear when warmer weather hits and pup tents are out of the question? Ive put together some fun options for day-to-night, casual weekends, and beach or pool time.
My family is tossing around ideas about what to do for Spring Break.
My son asked if we could go on a Disney cruise, and followed that up with a trip to Mexico.
While I don’t see our expectant-baby budget taking us on an exotic excursion, we are trying to find someplace warm and inviting stateside.
This means I’ll be on the hunt for warm-weather clothes that will be pool (or beach) ready by March!
I found this J.Crew bikini today. And while I’m not super thrilled about my baby bump in a bikini, a beige baby bump is better than a white one once summer rolls around, right?!
Plus, this bikini from J.Crew has a fabulous print in two of my fave colors… blue and more blue!
Vans were as common, if not more so, than underwear when I was growing up in Southern California.
Classic Vans were worn by skateboarders, BMX riders and surfers starting in the early 70’s. And although, Vans have always been popular, they have had a resurgence the last few years as they have put out more styles and colors. And as J.Crew picked up Vans for their Crewcuts line for kids, Vans are once again a household name all over the country.
Of course, I have always loved the look of vans, but now I am thinking practicality too. My youngest son is a few weeks away from starting preschool. In order to save myself and his teachers some time and angst, I’m thinking I want to order him these adorable checkerboard Vans in bright blue and orange.
As I mentioned in my blog several weeks ago, color is king. And these Classic Vans slip-ons definitely boast some color. What a cute addition to a little boys wardrobe, which doesn’t have the option of fun, frilly details like a girl’s would.
My hope is that he’ll love the independence of putting on and taking off his own shoes as needed. I know I will!
It’s time for school shoes!
While hunting for cute shoes for my boys, I instead happened upon these Macalister Boots from J.Crew for me!
Sometimes I am fortunate enough to be able to wear girls’ shoes instead of womens, and these might just be some that I need to invest in.
These glitter boots are pretty practical after all, right?
