One morning I met a mom and her children at the same preschool my son attends. She had done some guest posts for a Mother’s Social Networking site that I write for regularly. We hit it off instantly, and I ran home to send her a link to something via Facebook. She saw the udpates I made to Littleblacksweats.com and immediately put me on the hunt for a sophisticated dress she could wear to a wedding back East.
It took me all of five seconds to conjure up the perfect dress (I had actually tried it on in Chicago that fall.) She ordered it and loved how it fit.
Mission accomplished. And how classic, elegant and demurely sexy is this little number?
Before swimsuit season got underway, I received an email from a friend. She was shedding a little extra weight from having a baby not long before. She took up running to do it, and was training for her first half marathon to give herself a reason to stick with it. I gave her a few suggestions, but ultimately thought of Title 9 for their athletic-friendly swimwear. The bottoms are full coverage, and the tankinis and bikinis have great support. See her email below:
Another quick question for you…
Because you’re so amazing regarding fashion, any thoughts on where I should start my swim suit hunt?
I’m really anxious about buying online because I sort of feel like suits need to be tried on in person…but if you have thoughts…I would be so appreciative.
A good friend and I often spend a few minutes outside preschool every morning after dropping off our 5YOs. The content of the conversation varies, but often times it’s about fashion, products or DIY.
A few times, another friend’s little girl has run from dropping off her older sister, in the cutest chambray bloomers ever. Friend #1 comments on them every time.
So when I ran across these chambray bloomers for “big girls,” I couldn’t wait to send them to her. And they were 1/2 off that day with a code from Lucky Magazine. I convinced her that they would be awesome over bikini bottoms for the pool, or for playing in the back yard with her kiddos. And after all, she does have great legs!
