I’ve been carrying a super cool Ralph Lauren tote for several years now. It’s this shiny black leather tote with a “pinking shears” look along the top edge.
I get compliments on it almost daily and I love how it’s firm sides stand up so I can see inside it at all times. My 15″ laptop fits in it along with my iPad, snacks for post-school sports practices, swim goggles, mittens and a hat, my wallet and a small bag of personal affects.
Lately, I’ve been noticing that the handles, which are anchored by small gold-ish square hardware, are starting to wear thin. The day where one of those handles snaps is coming soon and I can’t be without a tote that gets me through virtually every day.
So my hunt has begun – no pun intended – and my top pick so far is this awesome HUNTER Nylon Moustache Messenger Bag. I love how simple it is and while I’m not a huge fan of big, fat labels on things – I do love the bright pop of red and white against the black background. I also love that there are both short and long-handled options, which is something my current bag doesn’t have.
Last fall/winter, I searched high and low for rain boots that I loved.
And more importantly rain boots that actually fit my calves.
I found some equestrian-style boots that I adore, and have to laugh at the fact that I have been looking for rain boots when this is the dryest summer on record.
But you know how I love to start early. So, I’ve located cute rain boots with a 16 1/4″ circumference around the calf area. Not only will these Hunter boots fit, but I will also have extra room to tuck in my skinny jeans, which has been problem #2 with most boots.
While I’ve ordered Sporto boots, Sperry boots and have tried on others, I have yet to find the “right” pair.
Hopefully, these cute Hunter Bessy Boots will be my ticket to puddle jumping this fall…. That, and some rain in the midwest.
So, you made it through your Friday afternoon pre-holiday office bash and you may still be nursing yourself through Saturday afternoon. But come Sunday afternoon, your neighbors are doing their annual holiday progressive to eat, drink and be merry. (If you’re anything like me – to show off how much time and effort, you’ve put into your Christmas décor!)
You’ll need something casually cute. And most likely some slip on-and-off footwear, if you live in the colder (read sloppier) climate like me. And your cape will be just as easy to throw on and off – or to just leave on!
