Daily Covet: Tory Burch Satin Smoking Slippers

I love all the holiday-esque fabrics and colors that the designers are offering this time of year.

Tory Burch has a rather extensive collection of smoking slippers this season and I’m in love with these Tory Burch Mayada satin slippers. I love the rich emerald color and bedazzled-ness of them – not to mention they’d go with my entire wardrobe. (Black pants, black sweaters, black skirts and black dresses!)

These would be absolutely lovely on a festive neighborhood walk, at a holiday party or for Christmas dinner. And if green isn’t your thing – try out the most royal looking slippers you’ve ever seen in purple!

Daily Covet: Marais for goop Open Toe Sandals

Named for the famous (and one of my favorite) neighborhoods in Paris, these Marais sandals for goop.com are the absolute cutest!

I know I’ve been posting shoes like crazy, but that’s what happens when you can’t fit into any of your clothes when your baby is almost a year old… but who’s counting? C’est la vie.

I love the cutaway tops and the almost mirror-like silver color. And unlike all the big, wide, hooker-y looking straps – even on couture shoes, I know – I love the itty bitty ankle straps instead.

Also, I’d like to point out that for several years, there were barely any shoes that I was loving.  So imagine my surprise when all of these gorge shoes came around – and they are wearable with everything!

Daily Covet: Christian Louboutin Boudoir Flat

Just saying “Christian Louboutin” makes me happy.  So when these Louboutin Boudoir Flats caught my eye, I couldn’t help but to feature them on the Daily Covet.

The palest of pale underlayer followed by feminine black lace give these flats a less-than-subtle sexy vibe.  Top to bottom, you’ll find a demure, black satin bow and trim followed by the signature red Louboutin soles, which are anything but innocent.

What more can I say?  These Christian Louboutin Boudoir Flats are practically perfect in every way.

Daily Covet: Navy and White Striped Blazer

Looking Parisian-chic in stripes should be a cinch this season.  Anything and everything you could ever want can be found in stripes.  And this adorable blazer is no exception.  It has a great fit, it’s a great weight for spring and summer, and it looks great with every color under the sun.

My Banana Republic happens to be next door to Ann Taylor, where there is also an adorable red knit dress that I would love to wear with it for going out or a day at the office.  But throw it on with jeans and a bright yellow tee, and you have a cute “around town” outfit.   Or choose kelly green boyfriend chinos and a denim shirt for a business casual Friday and shopping with your best girls.  The possibilities are endless!  (See Polyvore.com for where to buy.)

One jacket, three ways!

Daily Covet: The Perfect 10

It’s time to think about fall and winter style, you know…

After all, it is the dead of summer.  With a bad case of the global warmings.

Alas, I cannot be shopping for stuff to wear this summer… unless it’s on a major sale and I’m planning ahead.

But I’m so right now.  And right now, I’m shoe shopping.  I have come up with quite possibly the perfect shoe wardrobe to take me through fall and winter, holidays included.

Let’s start with the basics.  While I don’t particularly love working out – I’m glad once it’s done and I’m even more glad to have perfect running shoes while I’m working out.  I have now owned 4 pairs of these Nike Zoom Vomeros and they make running – even for me – not so much like hell on earth.  Too bad the 6th Generation comes in such ugly salt water taffy colors…

Because I am a stay-at-home mom most days and work from the comfort of my own home the others, I pretty much live in jeans most of the time.  That means my uniform generally includes ballet flats and this fall, some cute penny loafers, jeans and layered tees or turtleneck sweaters.  Black, red and the leopard print pair (because I’m not big on brown), should solve any color combo conundrum I’d have.

Red Penny Loafer, Tory Burch $250

Giuseppe Zanotti Leopard Haircalf Skull Ballet Flats, Saks Fifth Avenue $595

And because I live in jeans and because they are usually long – even my favorite petite length Joe’s Provocoteaurs – I generally need heels.  Especially when the weather starts getting sloppy.  That’s why shoes, boots or “shooties” are perfect for dressing up, dressing down and just seeing the world from a higher vantage point.

On the rare occasion I have to dress up – hopefully, all my dressing up occasions won’t be funerals like last year – I would love to have the perfect pair of black pumps.  In my former life, black pumps were always on hand, yet,  somehow I’ve managed to go several seasons without the perfect pumps.  Perhaps, I’m holding out for the mother (or father?) of all pumps – Louboutins!

Let’s not forget the most important footwear I own, my Uggs.  With jeans, yoga pants, my pajamas or anything else I happen to be wearing, these throw-on, cozy boots that grace my breezeway from October to April, are pretty much a daily occurence… even perfect for throwing on to get the paper, putting the out-going mail out, running to the store for ice cream at 10pm… you get the picture.

And lastly, the holidays.  We usually have several holiday events to attend.  What better way to spruce up a little black dress than with these electric pink pumps.  And hey, I just happen to have a matching handbag already, which means all I have to spring for are the shoes!

Manolo Blahnik Jeweled Pump, Nordstrom $945.00

So, here is my “Perfect 10” for fall.  Don’t do the math.  Just let me live in this dream world a little longer!
