Take a peak at peep-toe Cole Haans

There are few things better than the marriage between shoe maker extraordinaire and sneaker maker extraordinaire.  Several years ago, I bought two pairs of Cole Haan ballet flats with Nike Air technology.  I was pregnant at the time, and just needed comfortable shoes that I could chase my then 2 1/2YO  around in, without looking like a schlep.

They were on sale, so I treated myself to both pairs, one leopard calf hair with chocolate patent around the edges and the other, which were zebra calf hair with black patent edges.  They have been amazing shoes now for over 3 years, and may just be the first pairs of shoes I have actually “worn out.”

So, I’m looking for new ones.  These Cole Haan Air Tali Jeweled Ballerina flats are a little more summery and a little less all-purpose than the calf hair ones, but I still love them.  And if I’m going to pay good money for a pedicure, I definitely want to show off my toes anyway!

Daily Covet: A twist on the ballet flat

These delicious little shoes showed up in my inbox this morning from Neiman Marcus’  I love the color of these and think they do look absolutely taste-worthy in bright suede and shiny patent leather.  I love the cut-outs topped off with miniature ties, which makes these a twist on the typical flat.

And they are 25% off today, making them only $83.00!  Nothing yummier than a good bargain….

Daily Covet: 10 Items I wish Crewcuts made for J. Crew women

I just received a couple of catalogs from one of my favorite stores, J. Crew.  I’m sure you’ve guessed this by now, as I feature them frequently.

But one thing bums me out.  There are some really cute things in the Crewcuts catalog (children’s line for those of you not from this planet) that I would love to have in regular women’s sizes.

In fact, there are 10 things off-hand that I would kill to own (well, maybe mame) in my own size.  And they are as follows:

Girls' jaspé zip cardigan, $55

Girls' pep squad skirt in stripe $40

Girls' patch-pocket skort, $45

Girls' side-zip café capri in apple bobbing, $68

Girls' pretty kitty cardigan, $70

Girls' heathered tumble skirt, $44

Girls' wafer terry colorblock dress, $50

Girls' chino ruffle jacket, $70

Girls' Mila engineer-stripe ballet flats, $55

Girls' mini-ruffle dress in ikat, $72

Play up Feminine Flowers

I love these pants!  It’s so unlike me to pick super feminine prints.  I’m not usually one to be drawn to florals, but I think these are such a cute, classic cut.  And paired with a chambray tunic and poppy ballet flats, this is a have lunch with the girls outfit, a run errands with kids outfit, a hop on a plane outfit.  All things this stay-at-home-mom likes to do!

Daily Covet: Cruise with Ponte

3/4 Sleeve Ponte Dress With Zipper Back, $185

Seems like the 2012 Cruise collections have been out forever.  In fact, a lot of stores had the first signs of spring while I was still Christmas shopping.

But I love this time of year when the fabrics are getting lighter, as are the colors.  And this season is no different.

But of course – navy and white are always a staple – and that’s why this adorable Lacoste Ponte Knit dress is on my “must have” list this spring, not to mention the handy pockets.

I picture this with knee high boots, textured tights and a long, statement-making pendant for early, early spring.  Or with bright orange ballet flats and a nautical-inspired scarf, once the weather starts warming up (that is, after winter finally arrives!)

The possibilities are endless!
