Daily Covet: Erin Fetherston Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink.  Remember the movie where “wrong side of the tracks” Andie gets the hot, rich guy, Blaine?  You know, before Jon Cryer became a bumbling idiot on Two and a Half Men?

I was just reminscing about this movie and the Brat Pack a few nights ago.

So when I saw this simple (and simply beautiful!), feminine Erin Fetherston dress, it totally reminded me of Molly Ringwald’s handmade pink, lace frock from the movie.

Daily Covet: Snakes & Shifts

Snakes and shifts?  I don’t usually like snakes (I loath them), but I do like love shift dresses.  They are perfect for a girlio like me, who wears one size on top and a different one on the bottom.

This shift dress from French Connection is especially cute because of the “tough,” metallic snake print juxtaposed with the femininity of a 60’s era dress.

A perfect union really.

Paris in the Springtime

I’m so needing a vacation right now, and so is my husband, who works too hard.

There’s no place I’d rather be than in Paris.  I love Paris.

I was there in 2004 with my mom, and we stayed at this boutique hotel near the Louvre, called the Normandy Hotel.  It was literally around the corner from the wing, in which Napoleon III’s apartment stands.

It was also a stone’s throw from the Place Vendome, the Opéra and the shops on the Rue de Rivoli.  We could take a pretty good hike to the Champs Élysées or an even braver hike to the Marais – my favorite neighborhood. What could be better than Paris in the Springtime with the one you love?  Right.  Nothing.

Daily Covet: Be Mine Skirt

Now that we’ve discussed what goes underneath, how about something fun that you can show off in public?

This cute J.Crew pleated heart throb skirt is just the thing.  I love how they tone it down with classic cashmere in a solid black.  But you could really pump it up with red or pink too!

Kitten heels or knee high boots are also possible, as is a red or hot pink scarf.

Advertise Valentine’s Day all day long in this versatile item, and why not all year too?

Love it or Hate it?

Faux Croc Skull Knuckle Clutch By In's, ahalife.com $115

McQueen had been doing this kind of design for years.  It’s been walking the red carpets and showing up in the “clutches” of the overexposed, like Kim Kardashian.

My first thought was, what?  Yuck!  But then I took a closer look, and I think I’m actually liking it.  An evening bag, with an edge.  The juxtaposition of classic crocodile (albeit faux) and rocker chic skulls made into a convenient handle, is kind of making this usually preppy girl want to “rock it.”

While it’s probably not perfect for your law firm’s Christmas luncheon.  It is perfect for a night out with your friends, or for the grand opening bash of a swanky and dark venue with a hip vibe.  Just make sure you have vampy dark nails!

Let me know how you’d rock it!

Molly taught me everything I know!

Molly Ringwald is a childhood idol.  She taught me about life and love before I even needed to know.  Make sure to check out my blog tomorrow on Momaha.com and share your thoughts on Molly’s impact on you.  Or if not her, who?
