The fit is a little swing-like and the bottom hemline is “scalloped” along the natural lace line. I suppose if you’re tall enough, which I am not, you’d even be able to show a little bit of tummy – just enough to be sexy without being trashy.
To say my tastes in fashion are eclectic is an understatement. Schizophrenic might be a better term.
If you don’t believe me, take a gander at my last post about boyfriend jeans.
But not a lot of choices could be less boy and more girly-girl than this ice blue bow front top from Prabal Gurung (a fave for sure!) It showed up in a Harper’s Bazaar article about boob-minimizing tops – their words, not mine. While I would like a little minimizing from time to time, it’s the asymmetry and pseudo-ruching that I love. The peplum with skinny black pants or a pencil skirt would be gorge on just about any body type.
And Prabal Gurung is just one in a long list of designers you’ll be seeing ice blue from this fall/winter. Doesn’t hurt that blue happens to be one of my most favorite colors. I love all shades – navy to the palest shade of blue, so it’s no wonder this top jumped off the page at me.
