Get Into the Stripes of Things

There is notshortage of stripes this spring.

You will find them on throw pillows, dresses, wedge sandals, iphone cases and pretty much anything else you can think of.  So because I love them, and because there are so many to be found, here is a little bundling of some stripes I tracked down.  (Complete shopping info via Polyvore.com too.)

Daily Covet: Short on shorts

I need shorts.  It’s been hot here and my season of shorts, skirts and sundresses has commenced.

In a quick pick through my summer wardrobe, currently housed in roughneck tubs in my basement, there was a stunning lack of shorts.  And while shorts aren’t my favorite summer items, they are a necessary part of almost anyone’s summer wardrobe.

Since you can find shorts in any length, style and color from J. Crew this summer, it is probably my choice for a one-stop-short-shopping experience.

LittleBlackSweats.com has been nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award

A special thanks goes out to Stephanie of one of my favorite blog sites (and bloggers!), http://misprintedpages.wordpress.com for nominating me for The Versatile Blogger Award.

If you don’t have this site on your radar, check into it.  Stephanie reviews books and book covers – my favorite is “Awesome Book Cover Friday.”  And while our genres-of-choice often differ, I do so enjoy her thoughts on books I would otherwise know nothing about.

She also has helpful posts on writing and editing for those of us, who are looking to expand our knowledge in that realm.

And to the rest of my loyal readers – thank you for reading, commenting, and “liking” the posts you see on LittleBlackSweats.com.  It means so much to have you interact regularly, and to share your thoughts.  It’s the reason I update it day after day, afterall!

The Rules

1.  Thank the award-givers and link back to them in your post.

2.  Share 7 things about yourself.

3.  Pass this award along to 15 or 20 bloggers

3.  I’ve made 2 radio commercials in my life – the 2 were totally unrelated.

4.  My favorite food is Thai chicken lavosh (at least this week.)

5.  My two sons are named after Civil War heroes – totally unplanned.

6.  I hated the color blue growing up.  Now I can’t get enough of it.

DVF for GAP

9 days, friends, 9 days.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 15th because that’s the day that Diane Von Furstenberg’s children’s line will be launched at GAP. I’ve had a glimpse of some of the items, and it has me wishing that my neice’s birthday party was next Sunday instead of this Sunday.

I guess I’ll have to wait for another day… or abduct a little girl.

Daily Covet: 10 Items I wish Crewcuts made for J. Crew women

Daily Covet: The Pink Blazer

If you haven’t noticed, the pink blazer is everywhere!  It comes in all different shapes and hues, and looks great with virtually everything.

The great part is that most of them seem to be really tailored – nipped in at the waist – to make them the perfect layering piece with skirts, dresses and my favorite, short shorts!

Here are a few examples, and you can find complete shopping info on Polyvore.com.
