I have been wanting the perfect crossbody bag for a long time.
I don’t need a small bag often, but sometimes my outfit just calls for something somewhat casual, but still polished enough to wear for a night out.
This Chloé Marcie crossbody bag has been on my want list for a long, long time. Sadly, at this price point, it’ll probably stay there much longer.
This great Marc Jacobs bag, however, is far more reasonable. I love the detailing on the closure and while, I don’t love it in black, I do adore it in this bright blue color. And since I wear so much black and navy anyway, it’d be great to have a pop!
You might find this so random, but today I am coveting a Pergola.
We had the lovliest time on the back deck of some friend’s of ours last night. They had little round lights outlining the deck, which provided the perfect amount of ambient lighting for late night cocktails on a hot, summer night.
We too, have a fabulous outdoor space for entertaining and while it’s practically perfect in every way, I have this vision for a gorgeous pergola to semi-cover our patio. I want it to be strung with little white lights and maybe even have a ceiling fan to keep us cool when it gets beastly hot in August.
I also want it to have the same ivy growing in and around it just like I have crawling up the walls of my home.
What an outdoor paradise in the canopy of tiny lights and lush greenery!
This one is absolutely gorgeous and is like adding square footage to your living space. But maybe too-muchy like being in your family room.
I love the lights and the chandalier, presumably with votives for extra mood lighting.
But this space is absolutely UH-MAZING! I must admit however, that it may not be just the pergola that has me so in love… it might also be the stone patio and the table for dining al fresco.
This weekend, I made a public appearance at Junkstock, a cool event in Omaha that happens twice a year. It’s where vendors bring all their cool “junk” that’s been repurposed or is waiting to be repurposed for whoever decides it’s a must have.
I had to stop in at Target to pick up an umbrella as I misplaced mine. As I perused the accessories section, this little turquoise chevron wallet (in store) popped out at me. I actually own a black and white printed version of this wallet already and love it. It’s the perfect size for my smaller evening-time bags, I can take it out of my handbag and carry it on it’s own and it snaps shut tightly to keep all my cards, cash and identification in place. The best part is that it’s literally $12.99 – no one is more surprised than this bag snob!
Another favorite from Target is my No. 7 Sheer Temptation lip stain in “Entice.” I’m not much of a lipstick person on a day-to-day basis. I much prefer a little stain that will keep my lips pink even after the glossiness wears off. And it’s minimal gloss at that, so it’s really perfect to keep my pout moist even when I’m just working out or heading to the pool.
French fashion house
Maison Martin Margiela’s
second collaboration with all American sneaker brand Converse hit stores in New York this week. The classic white leather Jack Purcell comes in
and resembles an old-school pair of sneakers but with a twist. These have been given a lick of thick white paint. With wear and tear the paint will slowly peel and crack, revealing a hidden bold color beneath. The paint on each pair of shoes will crack in its own way, giving you your very own unique pair of kicks, beaten up and cool for summer.
The thing about watching too much Sex & the City is you start to shop for all the fabulous shoes, clothing and handbags you see on the show.
I have this critical lapse in the reality of my bank account and start looking at gorgeous shoes from Louboutin or Manolo Blahnik. Or it seems normal to virtually shop for designer clutches that are worth more than my refrigerator.
But after searching high and low for the perfect lace up booties in black in places that “regular girls” can afford, it was just my luck to find exactly what I’ve been envisioning in my head in the Louboutin section of Neiman Marcus.
Leave it to me to choose the absolute most expensive thing every time.
But these would be so worth it… for the beautiful red soles alone!
Friends and fashionistas, my apologies for the spotty posting over the last year.
A third baby and a new post at a boutique public relations firm has kept me from doing what I really love to do most often, which is BUY STUFF, of course.
But I had to make time for this amazing Issey Miyake Prism Rainbow Tote. I am truly in love with all things “totable” as my young family is constantly on the go.
From business trips to playdates, I am always on the hunt for fabulous totes that make me look like I put some effort (even if I didn’t) into what I am wearing… and toting. This makes my skinny white jeans, t-shirts and Chuck Cons super chic in an instant!

And just in case you plan to play Trivial Pursuit soon (do people still play this?), here’s a bit of a history lesson:
The Eiffel Tower, or La Tour Eiffel in French, is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, the Eiffel Tower was erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair.
It was initially criticized by some of France’s leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world.
The tower is the tallest structure in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; 6.98 million people ascended it in 2011. The tower received its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.
